Why Hi-Touch?
It cannot be denied that we live in a "hi-tech" age and never before has there been such a need for small business owners to embrace the new technology.
At the same time, however, (whilst globalisation means that there is not much difference in the range of products/services offered from one outlet to another), never before has the only real point of difference between businesses been reduced to a real focus on "hi-touch" when dealing with clients.
If we take a long-range view, the history of the trends in commercial strategies seems to have come the full circle.

Let's take the Industrial Revolution for example, and the innovations in manufacturing last century, (where "assembly line" and "automation" were new and innovative concepts and everyone was striving to automate and mass produce their goods), the technology sure was a focus. Unfortunately however, many big companies lost that "personal touch". Nowhere is it more evident than in the banking sector, for example.

The replacement of the corner store with shopping malls was another progression in the business world. Indeed many a small business suffered from the large conglomerates' ability to outdo them on the "purchase power" of bulk buying. Many smaller operators went under, simply because they could not hope to compete.

Why Hi-Tech?
With the emergence of internet technology however, it has now become once again the greatest opportunity for the small business operator to compete with the big guys. Having regard to and learnt lessons from the "dotcom bubble burst", it is now time to take stock of the realities of business today and the strategies that are going to separate the winners from the losers in the business world.

You don't even need a web site to achieve a "hi-touch" approach to your clients. But it is this very hi-touch personal service, which will make the difference in today's fast hi-tech marketplace.

Why The Business Breakfast Club?

The statistics are still showing that 95% of small businesses do not make it past the first five years. So what of the 5% who make it? What are the important strategies they employ to ensure their success? What can the small business person or even those intending to go into business do about ensuring that they are on the right side of the equation?

These are just some of the issues, which will be addressed through this innovative new business breakfast club called "Hi-Tech-Hi-Touch". Acknowledging the brilliant success of the Queanbeyan Breakfast Club, we now have our very own in Canberra, which is focused on successful businesswomen, who operateeither from home, via the internet or from premises.

"This breakfast club will be a meeting of like-minded small business women who want to be counted in the 5% who make it in the commercial hi-tech world today." says Suzanne Weatherburn from Cre@tive Knowhow, the host of this new business breakfast club. "We want to attract those business women (men also welcome), who wish to learn about the latest strategies they can employ to gain the edge for their businesses. Those, who are not just content to survive but to thrive and those who are willing also to learn from others.

The club will not be a purely social "coffee chit-chat" affair. Rather, it will be focused on imparting valuable and practical information to its small business members. They will be able to directly apply what they learn there immediately to add value to their own businesses.

Some of the regular features the club will adopt are as follows:

  • There will be a line-up of excellent guest speakers, each of whom have been carefully selected to provide valuable and practical business tips and strategies to assist entrepreneurs
  • There will be an opportunity each meeting to have an "in-house" speaker share their business stories and strategies - (great PR opportunity!)
  • There will be some excellent practical business resources available to purchase from the "small biz:" bookshop
  • There will be many opportunities for the participants to network via their business cards and other opportunities to also advertise their businesses
  • The meetings will be held throughout Canberra, both north and south side venues as well as the city
  • There will be opportunities for professional development and special discount offers to members of the club in valuable business related goods/services
