This page will shortly feature a listing of ‘highly recommended” emerging Aussie writers. The writers who will appear here, are those whom we consider to have considerable talent!
We will provide an image, a link back to their web site (if they have one), and a short blurb for each of the highly recommended writers appearing here.
These writers will not be major literary prize winners yet, but possibly be on their way:-)
By carefully selecting and exposing them here, we hope to contribute in some small way to their notoriety in the publishing world.
Who knows? A publisher or agent may make their latest discovery right here on AussieWriters.
We certainly hope so!
Meanwhile, if you want to be featured here and you think you are eligible, then send us an example of your work. (Post a copy of your book to: Aussie Writers PO Box 470, Kippax ACT 2615 or digitally to kirrilyking@gmail.com)
Please note: We may not respond straight away, depending on the volume of work/s we receive, but we will respond to let you know we have received it.. We will let you know if you have been selected for inclusion.
If you have not been successful, we will try to encourage you sensitively in our rejection. We recognise that many successful writers have been rejected before and it is by no means an indication that they will never be successful. And you should know this too.
Either way, please be patient. It may take a few weeks or up to a month or more, to get a response. We do take the process seriously and pass your work to a number of readers to help us to make our decision on quality.

Dear Suzanne
I would like to submit my name for inclusion on your Aussie Writers website.
My first novel, The Celtic Dagger, was published by New Holland Publishers in October 2010. The first chapter can be read on my web site as well as on Goodreads. I have also started a Facebook page.
I read with interest, your blog on social networking and concur that it can eat into one’s writing time if not controlled. Controlling it is the problem, however. I’m trying!
Best Regards
Jill Paterson
Thanks, Jill, for making your work known via our web site. I will certainly submit it for consideration. Currently we are snowed under with applications, but that’s a good problem to have I feel. There will be more information on this exciting project coming soon. Meanwhile please be patient on the decision re selection for inclusion. We are on a very big mission to find the best of emerging Aussie writing and there will be many rewards in terms of mass exposure for those who are selected.
I am looking forward to checking out your web site.
I was wondering, what are your specific submissions guidelines? Also, what format do you publish in: e-books, or ink and paper?
Hi Petra,
You just need to submit a sample of your writing. We accept both electronic and postal submissions and we will select the top writers each year to publish. (Somewhat like Litlinks.) Publishing will be in both eBook and traditional formats. It is very selective and there are a number of different judges in the selection process. But by all means submit. It is a golden opportunity not to be missed.
Suzanne,
If you need additional readers, I am sadly lacking in good books to read, and my bookshelf looks sadly empty. Let me know.
Cheers,
Michael M
Thanks Michael, for considering becoming a reader for this project. At the moment we have enough readers, but as the project grows, there will be a call for new readers at the end of the year. So do keep in touch:-)
G’day Suzanne,
I sent you an email to submit my name for inclusion to your Aussie writers website. I sent you my short story The Forest.
I have a Twitter account and a wordpress blog in Olivia Ashe, so please feel free to have a look at them. I might start a facebook page, but I don’t want social media to take up too much of my time.
Cheers,
Olivia Ashe
Thanks Olivia. It will be put up for consideration. But I don’t make the decisions, so you will have to be patient to find out the outcome. Congrats on your work:-)
